Jennie (LaMantia) Beswick

Jennie (nee LaMantia) Beswick, 97, of Wheatfield, NY, passed away after a brief illness on February 5, 2021. Born on August 7, 1923 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Teresa (Lojacano) LaMantia.  Jennie married Robert Beswick on September 14, 1946. He predeceased her in April of 2006.

Jennie worked for over 20 years as a bookkeeper at the Beacon Christian Bookstore and was known to often purchase bibles for people, to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As a faithful disciple of Jesus, she was a member of the congregation at the Walnut Avenue Christian Church. Jennie was a very social person and leaves behind many friends. She lived independently up until the time of her illness. Jennie had a great love for all animals and could often be found babysitting her daughters dogs.

Jennie was a loving mother to daughters, Teresa Kennedy and Karen (Ken) Davidson; grandchildren, Daniel (Lilian) Kennedy and David Danielson; three great grandchildren and nephews, Gary LaMantia and Frank (Patty) Caraglio and a niece, Maria (Patrick) Radigan. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by sisters, Angeline and Concettina; a brother, Petrino and half-brothers, Joseph, Angelo, Philip, Sebastian and James.

Jennie’s visitation, funeral service and interment in Oakwood Cemetery will be held privately with her family.  Her funeral service will be available virtually via Facebook Live on Tuesday, February 9th at 11:00 a.m. by visiting www.facebook.com/goodlandercares.
