John Joseph Costanzo, 86, of the Town of Niagara, NY, passed away on November 15, 2020 from complications due to a fall at Erie County Medical Center. Born on July 25, 1934 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late John Joseph Costanzo, Sr. and the late Helen (Heller) Costanzo. On September 5, 1953, John married the love of his life, Judith A. Culp in Our Lady Mt. Carmel Church.
John was a lifelong area resident and attended local school. He proudly served in the United States National Guard for six years. For over 40 years, he was employed by the Occidental Chemical Corporation, where he retired as a superintendent. John, an active member and communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Parish (worshiped at the St. Leo's site) and enjoyed spending time with his wife at the family cabin in the Southern Tier and was deeply devoted to his wife and family.
In addition to his beloved wife of 67 years, John is survived by grandchildren, Courtney Costanzo and Garrett (Morgan) Costanzo; sister, Kathy (Wayne) Jaruszawicus; brother, Thomas (Ellen) Costanzo and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by children, Mark (living, Chyme Krzyscin) Costanzo and Todd Steven Costanzo and a sister, Eileen (late Gordon) Stewart.
Funeral services at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY (716-297-9007) and entombment at St. Joseph Cemetery were held privately with his family. Rev. Robert Hughson officiated. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to the Palliative Care unit at Erie County Medical Center. Arrangements are under the care of Michael R. Goodlander.
