John Anthony DeFranco

John Anthony DeFranco, “Jack,” born on March 2, 1954, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025 at the age of 70, leaving behind a legacy of love, adventure, and cherished memories. Born to Mary Jane DeFranco and Anthony DeFranco, John was a man of deep passion and devotion, especially when it came to his son, Christopher DeFranco, who predeceased him.

John had a lifelong love for music and found great joy in attending concerts, immersing himself in the sounds and experiences that brought him so much happiness. He also cherished spending time with his lifelong friend, Gary Riggi, with whom he shared countless adventures. A dedicated sports fan, john was an ardent supporter of the Buffalo Bills, never missing an opportunity to cheer on his favorite team.

His enthusiasm for music, adventure, and sports was only rivaled by the love he had for his family. He is survived by his beloved sister, Antoinette DeFranco Rowles; his brother, Dennis DeFranco; his sister, Brenda DeFranco Ross; and numerous nieces and nephews who will forever hold him in their hearts. He was predeceased by his sister Debra DeFranco.

John kindness, humor, and unwavering love for those closest to him will be dearly missed. Though he is now reunited with his son, parents, and sister, his spirit will live on in the memories of those who knew and loved him.

All are welcome to gather for visitation on Thursday, February 13th, from 4-7 p.m. at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME AND NIAGARA COUNTY CREMATION CARE, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007).    Private interment in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Niagara Hospice.
