John J. Denney

John J. Denney, 56, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away unexpectedly on March 23, 2026, surrounded by family and friends.  Born on April 13, 1969 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the loving son of Sarah Ann (Swindlehurst) (Jorge) Denney and the late William Joseph (Marlene) Denney and the husband of Laura (Hayes) Denney.

John attended local schools and was the owner and operator of Higher Ground Construction. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.  John also loved going to concerts and playing golf with family and friends.  He had a fond love for his pets, Romo and Taffy.

In addition to his mother and wife, John is survived by a brother, James (Leslie) Denney; sister, Salli (John) Denney; nephews, Jordan (Kaitlyn) and Austin Denney; a niece, Talia Denney; great-nephew and great-niece, Jacob and Kaia Denney; step-son, Brandon Lawson and so many others to name. 

All are welcome to gather for visitation on Saturday, March 28th, from 4-6 p.m., at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME AND NIAGARA COUNTY CREMATION CARE, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007), where John’s Funeral Service and Life Celebration will follow visitation at 6:00 p.m., with Rev. Kathleen Ordiway officiating.  In honor of John, people are asked to come wearing Dallas Cowboys gear or Dallas Cowboys colors.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to ConnectLife Blood and Organ Donor Network.
