John Francis Ford, 86, of Grand Island, NY, passed away on May 3, 2025 at Hospice Buffalo, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 22, 1938 in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late Francis and Eileen (O’Leary) Ford and the husband of Carmela (Ippolito) Ford.
John grew up in the projects of Mission Hill, Boston MA. He loved the Buffalo Bills and the Boston Red Sox and was an avid golfer with more than a few hole in one’s. Proudly served in the United States Army and worked on the power project as a part of the hard hats. He always looked forward to the family parties. John had a smile and sense of humor that were bigger than life itself. He absolutely loved both his dogs Max. John lived a long positive life full of love with family and friends that he truly cherished.
In addition to his beloved wife of 51 years, John is survived by children, Mary Beth (Robert) Titus, Ellie (Jeffrey) Gang, Carolyn (Greg) Babcock, Maureen (Thaddeus) Banaszak, Anthony Ford and Angela (Leo) Clyde; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Bobby (Sandy) Ford and very special nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Michael W. Ford and a grandson, Joshua Gang.
All are welcome to gather for visitation on Tuesday, May 6th, from 3-6 p.m., at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME AND NIAGARA COUNTY CREMATION CARE, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007), where John’s funeral service, concluding with Military Honors, will be held at 6:00 p.m., with Rev. Stuart Buisch officiating. If desired donations may be made to Hospice Buffalo.
