John Robert Panattoni, of Niagara Falls, NY, age of 81, passed away on June 18, 2024. Born on November 11, 1942 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Mario and Rosella (Ciccone) Panattoni. On July 12, 1969, John married Karen Post in St. Joseph Church.
John served in the United States Army, until his honorable discharge in 1970; serving in the Vietnam War, from 1964 to 1966. He retired as a laborer from the Laborers Local #91, after 50 years of dedicated service. John was an avid Yankee, Buffalo Bills, and racing fan. He took pride in his restored 1934 Ford Coupe.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by his children and their spouses, John and Rose Panattoni, Diana and James Henry, and Lynn and Rob Gelo; grandchildren, Chelsea Johnson, Erica Olszewski, Ashley Olszewski, Jakob Henry, Tyler Henry, Robert Gelo, and Daniela Gelo; great-grandchildren, Bentley Olszewski, Finnley Johnson, Briella Horne, and Brayson Horne and his Aunt Lou and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his brother, Mario (living, Gloria) Panattoni and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
All are welcome to gather for visitation on Sunday, from 4-8 p.m. at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007). Family and friends are invited to attend John’s Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, June 24th, at 11:00 a.m. celebrated in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. Military Honors will conclude his Mass. If desired memorial offerings may be made to a charity of one's choice.
