Julie A. (Evert) Martin

Julie A. (Evert) Martin, 77, of Grand Island, NY, passed away on August 16, 2023 at Kenmore Mercy Hospital.  Born on April 23, 1946 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Helen (Mosolf) Evert.

Julie graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1964 and later earned her Masters Degree in Education.  She was employed as a school teacher, working for various school districts across the United States. Julie was an avid animal lover.  She also enjoyed cooking, traveling and spending time at her other home in Florida and in Turkey Point, Canada.  Julie frequently donated to animal charities.  Above all else, she absolutely loved her family.

Julie is survived by her brother, Steven (Mary) Evert; nieces and nephews, Marcy Cox, Karen (Peter) Pellegrino, John (Jennifer) Evert, Jennifer Gregson, Jerry (Rena Pellinio) Evert, Eric Evert, Craig (Tracey) Evert, Darryl (Tricia) Evert and Shannon (Marc) Niccola; dear friend and caregiver, Lisa Huey; several great-nieces and great-nephews and her beloved dogs, Moxie and Einstein.  Besides, her parents, Julie was predeceased by brothers, Lee (living, Eileen) Evert and Edward (living, Cecelia) Evert.

The family will be present to receive friends on Friday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007), where Julie’s funeral service and life celebration will be held on Saturday, August 26th, at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Laura Norris-Buisch officiating.  Friends invited.  Prayers of committal and interment will follow in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made Niagara County SPCA and/or the Erie County SPCA.
