Life story


Louis L. Campanaro, 94, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on September 24, 2021.  Born on October 26, 1926 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Leonardo and Concetta (nee Pucariello) Campanaro.  On July 7, 1951, Louis married Joan Maselli in St. Joseph Church, Niagara Falls, NY.


Louis graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1944.  He proudly served in the United States Army, during World War II, from January 17, 1945 until his honorable discharge on November 30, 1946.  Louis was employed as a production worker for Occidental Chemical Corporation.  He was a parishioner and communicant of Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish, where he attended the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Worship site.  Louis was also a longtime member of the ISDA.


In addition to beloved wife, Louis is survived by two daughters, Cam Campanaro and Janine (Gary) Riggi, Sr.; grandchildren, Joseph (Shannon) Zaleski, Gary Riggi, Jr., Daniel Riggi and Kevin Riggi; twin great-granddaughters, Aria and Brielle; a sister, Ruth (Henry) Gonzalez and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Karen (living, Richard) Zaleski and seven siblings.


Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, concluding with Military Honors, on Friday, October 1st at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Stewart Lindsay, O.S.F.S. serving as celebrant.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and/or Niagara Hospice.  Professional arrangements are under the care of the Goodlander family, OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007).  Share condolences and memories at
