Martha Williams Bennett, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. Her warmth, generosity, and deep faith touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born to parents Mary Dahar and Harris Williams in Niagara Falls, NY, Martha was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roger Charles Bennett, her cherished daughter Sarah Louise Bennett, and her dear brothers Joseph and Harris Williams. She is lovingly survived by her son Keith Bennett, her daughter and son-in-law Ruth Bennett and Diego Benites, and her adored grandchildren Andres and Nina Benites, who brought her endless pride and joy. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Francis and Marie Williams, along with her many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Martha’s life was defined by her family and faith. Devout Catholics, Martha and Roger married at Our Lady of Lebanon Church in 1960. They cherished their Niagara community, and Martha dedicated her life to supporting numerous parishes and organizations. She generously contributed her time to St. Stephen’s Parish of Grand Island, St. Peter’s Church and HART in Lewiston, Stella Niagara, Niagara University, St. Mary’s Church, and she was a founding organizer of the Festival of Lights in Niagara Falls.
Martha was a woman ahead of her time who earned a degree in economics from Trinity Washington University in Washington, DC, and later founded her own interior design firm, creating beautiful homes across New York.
Throughout her life, Martha shared her talents with grace and enthusiasm. She was an exceptional pianist, bridge player, and artist. Martha loved to play golf, sing along to Frank Sinatra, dance, read, garden, and win at Scrabble. Her creativity shone through her work as an interior designer and teacher. Martha lived a beautiful life traveling the world and building friendships from Niagara Falls to Arizona.
Her family and friends will forever remember her joyful heart, her elegant spirit, and the boundless love she gave to all.
