Mary Ruth (Hauck) Cornell

Mary Ruth (Hauck) Cornell, 84, of the Town of Niagara, NY, passed away on December 10, 2023 at Mount St. Mary’s Hospital, Lewiston, NY.  Born on January 12, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late George Hauck and Mary (Muldoon) Nicholas.  On December 22, 1983, Mary married Kenneth L. Cornell. 

Mary graduated from the former LaSalle Senior High School.  She retired from Occidental Chemical, where employed as a receptionist.  Mary enjoyed shopping, crafts, fast cars, and attending family outings at her sisters house. Above all else, she loved being surrounded with her entire family and adored them deeply.  Mary’s family will miss her ‘famous’ brownies she would bake for them.

In addition to her husband of 40 years, Mary is survived by her son, Jeff Johnson; step-children, Tammy (Marc) LaGamba and Ken Cornell; step-grandchildren, Samantha LaGamba and Vincenette LaGamba; her sister, Josephine (late George) Lee; nieces, Mandi (Shawn) Abel and Jodi Lee and many other family members and friends.  Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her nephew, Brian Lee.

The family will be present to receive friends on Monday, December 18th, from 4-7 p.m., at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007).  Family and friends are invited to attend Mary’s prayers of committal and interment on Tuesday, December 19th, at 12:00 p.m., in North Ridge Cemetery, 4210 Church Road, Lockport, NY (Town of Cambria), with Michael R. Goodlander officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the Niagara County SPCA and/or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
