Michael Young Life story

Michael Lewis Young, 84, of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully on July 3rd, 2025 at Niagara Hospice in Lockport, with his family by his side. Born in Niagara Falls on January 24, 1941, son of Richard W. And Phyllis M. (Hoey) Young. 

When Mike was growing up he enjoyed raising rabbits and his Dalmation sport, playing basketball at the YMCA on Portage Rd, building and racing dragsters at Lancaster Speedway and spending summers at the family cottage on Old Lake Rd. Mike attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1959. He worked on the Niagara Power Project, then went to work for family, four generations along side his father and other family members at Youngs Moving and Storage on Willow Ave & Main St. He married his wife of 63 years, Audrey M. (Bullivant) Young on August 19, 1961 in St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. Mike started his companies, M. L. Young Motor Express and Amy Warehouse in the North Tonawanda Wurlitzer Building, retiring in 1992. He started working for Modern Disposal and transferred to Bonita Springs, Florida, retiring again in 2009 and moved to The Villages, Florida. Then moved home to Niagara Falls to be near family and friends. Mike was a member of the Masonic Lodge #132, he enjoyed watching NBA, college basketball, Buffalo Bills and going to McDonalds with Audrey and their friends. Most of all he cherished the time with his family. 

Besides his wife Audrey, he is survived by his three children, Audrey (Keith), Michael, and Anne (Michael); five grandchildren, Keith (Cassandra), Nicholas, David (Samantha), Emma (Parker) and Julia (Quinn); two great-grandsons, Gabriel and Magnus; godson, Albert Jafarjian; two sisters, Phyllis M. (late James) Hibbard and Patricia Korpolinski; two sister-in-laws, Donna (late Richard) Young and Katherine (late David) Young and many nieces and nephews, he was predeceased by his nephew, Robert Young.  

The family wishes to thank Dr. Samuel Sirianni, his staff and Niagara Hospice social worker Elizabeth, nurses LeAnne, Maddie, Brad, Melissa, Gail, Theresa, Bailey and the wonderful staff for their excellent care and compassion.
