Michele M. (Etopio) Martin, 73, of Amherst, NY, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on December 11, 2024. Born on June 15, 1951 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Thomas J. Etopio, Sr. and the late Gloria S. (Accordino) Etopio and the wife of David W. Martin.
Michele graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1969. She worked for the Niagara Falls Board of Education and retired from the City of Niagara Falls, after 30 years of dedicated service. Michele was a former active member of St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus Church (St. Raphael Parish), where she served on their bereavement committee and was currently attending St. Gregory the Great Church. She was a steward of the Civil Service Union and sat on the Niagara Falls High School Class of 1969 reunion committee. Michele enjoyed gardening, reading and sewing. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her devoted husband, Michele leaves behind her children, Lenore (Christopher) Uhrich, Renee Frazier and David Martin, Jr.; grandchildren, Zoe, Olivia, Joseph and Michael; siblings, Jean (Rick) Sweney, Judy (Dave) Smith, Linda (Bob) Redfern and Thomas J. Etopio, Jr. and many aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
All are welcome to gather for visitation on Monday, from 3-7 p.m., at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME AND NIAGARA COUNTY CREMATION CARE, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007). Michele’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 17th, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Gregory the Great Church, 200 Gregory Ct. Buffalo, NY (Williamsville), with Rev. David Baker serving as celebrant. Friends invited. Everyone please assemble at the church. Rite of committal prayers and entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. Flowers are gratefully declined, if desired, memorial offerings may be made to St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy, www.stlukesmissionofmercy.org
