Michele T. (Tedesco) Smiszek

Michele T. ‘Mickey’ (Tedesco) Smiszek, 77, passed from this life on July 12, 2020 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence.  Born on May 6, 1943 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Michael J. and Carmela P. ‘Mela’ (DePadre) Tedesco.

Mickey as she was known, was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY, attended local schools, graduated from Niagara Falls High School and attended Buffalo State College. She was a well-known talented baker, in which people would hire her for her expertise (wedding cakes, cookies and her white pizza). Mickey was a former member of the Guardian Angels Organization for a brief period and was politically active in the early 1970’s.

The family wishes to thank the entire staff including, nurses, aides and the administration at Our Lady of Peace NCR, everyone was so wonderful and kind.

Mickey is survived by two daughters, Nicole (Brian) Tedesco-Goodwin and Yvette (David) Brown; a grandson, Michael (Jessica) Brown; sisters, Toni Royer and Denise Tedesco and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will be present Thursday, July 16th from 3-7 p.m. at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where a funeral service will follow visitation at 7:00 p.m., with Rev. Stewart Lindsay, O.S.F.S. officiating.  Family and friends invited.
