Miriam Frances (nee Wigle) White, 99, passed away peacefully at Niagara Rehabilitation and Nursing Center on January 21, 2021. Miriam, the daughter of Elmer and Lois Wigle, was born on March 23, 1921 in Niagara Falls and lived there all her life. In 1949, she was married to Robert White. They were married for 43 years until his death in 1992.
Miriam was born on Haeberle Avenue and lived there her entire life until she entered Niagara Rehabilitation Center, located just around the corner, where she was lovingly cared for. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church of Niagara Falls until their closing.
She was employed as a clerk at Moore Business Forms on Highland Avenue until her retirement. She volunteered at the local Girls Club in Niagara Falls part time. She kept herself in very good health, bowling and yoga, and was a role model to many.
Although she never had children of her own, she mentored her nieces and nephews as well as members of the local Girls Club of Niagara Falls. Miriam poured so much love into her siblings' children, especially the four children (Crystal, Eric, Howard and Debbie) who were residents of Wyndham Lawn Home For Children in Lockport, New York. She visited on a regular basis and took them out regularly for daily outings in the area. She displayed a kind heart and loving soul and saw the bright side of everything.
She is fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew her, especially her extended family who loved her as a mother. Miriam always spoke with a sweet, soft-spoken voice, saying "thank you, please don't go through any trouble, I'm fine," never wanting to be a burden to anyone.
Miriam was predeceased by her four siblings, Elmer, Melvin, Douglas and Helen. She is survived by her nieces, Debra Dupper, Largo Fl., Crystal Walters, Vestal N.Y, Eric Wigle, Clarksville Ga. and Howard Wigle of St. Petersburg FL. and several other nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation. Private prayers of committal and interment will be at Niagara Falls Memorial Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. If desired, memorial donations in Miriam's name may be given to a charity of your choice. Professional arrangements are under the direction of Michael R. Goodlander, owner of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007). Share condolences and memories at www.facebook.com/goodlandercares and www.GOODLANDERCARES.com
