Nancy L. (Moran) Nichols

Nancy L. (Moran) Nichols, 83, of Niagara Falls, NY, peacefully passed away on December 28, 2023, at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born on January 21, 1940 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Anna (Murphy) Moran.  On July 17, 1967, Nancy married Richard Matthew Nichols, Sr.  He predeceased her on March 14, 2005.

Nancy was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls and attended local schools. She retired from the City of Niagara Falls, employed as a clerk for both the water department and the Earl W. Bridges Library. Nancy was a parishioner of Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph Parish, where she attended the St. Joseph worship site.  She was a member of Sisters of Charity at St. Joseph Church.  Nancy enjoyed puzzles, Words with Friends, crocheting, and sewing.

Nancy is survived by daughters, Dawn Nichols and Susan Nichols; sons, Richard M. (late Lynn) Nichols, Jr., Charles J. (Marie) Nichols, Michael J. Nichols, David P. Nichols, and James P. Nichols; beloved daughter-in-law, Michelle Nichols; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Besides her parents and husband, Nancy was predeceased by a son, Edward J. (Robin) Nichols and siblings, John E., Joseph F., and James A. Moran and Marilyn Cunningham.

Private prayers of committal and interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY, with Rev. Stewart Lindsay, O.S.F.S. officiating.  If desired, memorial offerings may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
