Nels A. Newman

Nels A. Newman, 61, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Thursday,  November 19, 2020. Born on January 31, 1959 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of late Nels. E. Newman and the late Mary F. (Figler) Newman.
 

Nels was a dedicated youth hockey coach in Western New York for 39 years. He loved seeing how many of his players made it on the travel team the following year.  Nels had a unique talent for giving gifts that you never knew you needed, yet would make you smile, and if that didn’t work you could always count on him for a good old fashioned dad joke. He loved spending time with his children and family at Fort Niagara, especially on 4th of July which was his favorite holiday.  Due to the brevity of this life, everyone should enjoy the small things in life, like our father did.  Simply going to the beach, family gatherings, picnics, playing putt-putt golf, and ice skating.
 

Survivors include his children, Jacob Newman, Mary Newman, Joseph (Cynthia) Connolly, and Koresa Seiler (Aj Speck); grandchildren, Vivian and Cora Connolly and Skylar and Kayden Speck; siblings, Sally Mastrangelo, Mary Lynn (Robert) Marcolini and Patty Jo (David) LeGault and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
