Otto C. Pflueger

Otto C. Pflueger, 79, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed from this life on January 4, 2021 following a lengthy battle with Parkinson's Disease.  Born on November 2, 1941 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Otto and Anna Elizabeth (Schiesser) Pflueger. On December 14, 1963, he married Emily Ann Wilcox in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Chris, as he was known, was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, graduated from Niagara Falls High School and earned his associates degree from Bryant and Stratton College.  He was employed as a police officer for the New York State Park Police.  He retired after 33 years of dedicated service. Chris was a lifelong member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his beloved wife, Chris is survived by his children, Richard C. (Helen) Pflueger and Janet M. (Jim) Mitchell; grandchildren, Micaela A. Mitchell, Richard G. Pflueger, Elizabeth R. Mitchell and Rachel M. Pflueger and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister, Helen Lorenti.

The family will be present on Wednesday from 3-7 p.m. at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007) where Chris’s funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 7th at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Thomas Mason officiating (enter the south entrance of the parking lot for Thursday only). Prayers of committal and interment will follow in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.  Friends invited.  Facial coverings and social distancing will be required at all times for your safety.  Thank you for your support and understanding.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.  Professional arrangements are under the direction of Michael R.
