Ricardo C. Vinagre, 61, of Youngstown, NY, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on January 9, 2021. Born on July 1, 1959 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, he was the son of the late Darcy Costa de Oliveira (surviving, Alice) Vinagre and the late Hilda (Contreiras de Oliveira) Vinagre.
Mr. Vinagre attended schools both in Brazil and locally. Ricardo earned an Associates Degree from Erie Community College and his Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Design and Urban Planning from the University at Buffalo. He was employed by SUNY Brockport as a Migrant Advocate Worker and Instructor and enjoyed working for Over The Falls Tours.
Mr. Vinagre was a congregant of RiverLife Chapel on Creek Road in Youngstown, a longtime rowing coach for St. Catharines Recreation Rowing League and a member of the Kiwanis Club of Lewiston. Ricardo volunteered his time delivering meals during the holidays to the migrant worker's families. He had a passion for motorcycles, specifically motocross, but still enjoyed riding his street bike. Mr. Vinagre was a talented musician and percussionist and enjoyed playing the congas at church. Ricardo was faithful to God and others and a true disciple-daily following Jesus and compelling others to do the same. He loved people and was extremely giving, caring, passionate and extraordinary. The lives he touched are countless.
In addition to his step-mother, Alice, Mr. Vinagre is survived by his beloved daughter, Hannah Vinagre; his loving partner, Paula Donovan; siblings, Ronaldo (Luciana) Vinagre and Renato Vinagre; a nephew and nieces, Rafael Vinagre, Julia Vinagre and Fernanda Vinagre; his former spouse, Gladys Franco; step-son, Oscar Navarro and several cousins.
