Richard G. Depew, 91, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at his residence, in the presence of his loving family. Born on July 12, 1927 in Tillsonburg, Ontario, Canada, he was the son of the late Richard H. and Iva “Betty” (Hearn) Depew.
Dick, as he was known to family and friends, came to Niagara Falls with his parents as a child. He attended local schools and graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School. Dick proudly served in the United States Navy, as a seabee, stationed in Guam, from 1944 until his honorable discharge in 1946. He retired from Carborundum, where he was employed as a welder, following 42 years of service. Dick enjoyed to hunt and fish.
Dick is survived by daughters, Ronnelle (Richard “Duke”) Emerson and Bonnie (Thomas) Rachow; grandchildren, Erik (Marilyn) Deuble, Joshua Deuble, Melanie (Mike) Grabek, Thomas (Cassandra) Rachow, Jennifer Tamol and Jessica Tamol; 6 great-grandchildren and 1 expected great-granddaughter. In addition to her parents, he was predeceased by his spouse, Florence (Petricone) Depew; former spouse, Thelma (Pearson) Depew; a daughter, Michelle Tamol and his sister, Ruth (late Roy) Johnson.
