Richard J. Steinman, 68, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Mount St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston, NY, following a brief illness. Born on December 6, 1949 in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of Adele (Bianchi) Steinman and the late Harold Steinman. On September 20, 2003, Richard married the former Betty Jo Froman.
Richard was a lifelong resident of Western New York, attended local schools and graduated from Alden High School. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, during the Vietnam War. “Stiny” as he was know on the railroad, working for Conrail and Amtrak and retiring from CSX in 2006. He was a member of Penn Central Credit Union. Richard absolutely loved the beach and enjoyed camping at Niagara Woodlands Campground.
In addition to his mother and wife, Richard is survived by children, Richard Steinman, Jacob (Jesika) Froman, Rebecca (Derrick) Marvin, CarrieAnn Cragun and Cinnamon Cragun; siblings, Michael Steinman and Kathy (Cliff) Minter and several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by brother, David Steinman.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of his life on Sunday, October 14th beginning at 5:00 p.m. at his and Betty Jo’s home, 4116 Washington Street in Niagara Falls.
