Richard Touma Life story

Richard A. Touma, born in 1931 in Niagara Falls, NY, passed away after a short illness.  Richard grew up in Niagara Falls, lived on Portage Road, was a member of Our Lady of Lebanon Parish, went to area schools and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1949.  He then graduated from Niagara University with a BS in Natural Sciences in 1953.  He ran Touma’s House of Mirrors on Falls Street with his mom (Monsora Touma) until the state took it through Eminent Domain in the summer of 1958.  Richard then worked at Family and Children’s here in Niagara Falls.  He then went back to school and earned his Master’s in Education.  He was employed by the Niagara Falls City School District for thirty-one years and taught in various elementary schools.

Richard married the love of his life, Margaret Bolger in Renfrew, Ontario on July 10th, 1965.  He would tell her often that she was the best thing to ever happen to him. Richard enjoyed bocce, golfing, bowling, yard work, and walking with his friend group. He enjoyed going to the Niagara University Purple Eagles basketball games and was an avid fan. He was a Knights of Columbus 3rd degree member. He looked forward to going to shows with Margaret and primarily spending time with his family. Richard relished fishing with family and friends and really loved fishing in the fresh water lakes in Ontario. Richard was delighted to belong to St. John de LaSalle Church. He was very proud of his entire family.

Richard is the son of the late Amin and Monsora Touma. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Margaret Touma (Bolger) and his children, Catherine Touma D’Angelo (David) and Andrew Touma (Jocelyn).  He has ten grandchildren, Nicholas D’Angelo, the late Chelsea D’Angelo, Philip D’Angelo, Alexander Touma, Britini D’Angelo, Benjamin Touma, Ana D’Angelo, Johnathan Touma, Michael Touma, and Madelyn Touma and one great-grandson Cameron Holland. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by all his siblings, Edward Touma, Dr. Gamil Touma and Helen Touma Murphy.
