Life story

Robert J. Anstey, 62, of the Town of Niagara, NY, passed away on March 1, 2020.  Born on March 27, 1957 in Lakewood, CA, he was the son of the late Elmo “Moe” and Estelle “Essie” (Otis) Anstey.

Rob, as he was known, spent time for several years working as a police officer in various capacities and departments and most recently as a security officer for Seneca Niagara Casino.  He proudly served in the United States Army, from June 30, 1975 until his honorable discharge on August 16, 1977.  On September 4, 2010 he married Cynthia L. Hyers.  Rob loved spending time with friends, cowboy movies and was an actual cowboy for some time. 

In addition to his beloved wife, Cindy, Rob is survived by children, John (Lisa) Anstey, Robert (Jodi) Anstey and Nina (Chris Stevens) Anstey; grandchildren, Jason, Kailee, Mike, Austin, Angelica, Dakota, Sage and Carina; brother, Dana Anstey; sisters, Donna Mead and Carol Anstey and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Rob also leaves behind his 2 horses, Duke and Patch; 2 dogs, Rebel and Saddie and 3 cats, Spooks, Bailey and Austin. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, John David Anstey; grandparents; several aunts, uncles and cousins and a dog, Blue.

Due to COVID-19, to ensure your protection, visitation with Army Military Honors has been postponed and will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Roswell Park Alliance Foundation.  Arrangements are under the direction of Michael R.
