Roy Edwin George Lammerts, 84, of Ransomville, NY, passed away on June 11, 2020. Born on June 27, 1935 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Edwin Roy Lammerts and the late Athene (Pauly) Lammerts. On December 30, 1968, he married Joanne Thomas.
Roy was a lifelong area resident, attended local schools and graduated from Lewiston-Porter High School. He then proudly enlisted in the United States Navy Air Reserves and was later honorably discharged. Prior to his employment at Carbon Graphite, where he worked as a laborer and supervisor, Roy worked as a car mechanic for various shops. He belonged to a model airplane club, was an avid toy train collector, dog lover and clock repairman and enjoyed bowling and hunting.
In addition to his beloved wife of over 52 years, Roy is survived by a sister, Cindy (Sulynne) Goode; daughters, Diana Cassick, Rene Boyle and Kerri Sher; sons, Robert Lammerts, Steven Lammerts, Noel 'Buddy' Leveille, Scott Leveille and Neil Leveille; 24 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and his best friend of 40 years, who is considered family, Paul Kovac.
