Sandra Jean (Kollie) Brown

Sandra Jean (Kollie) Brown, 79, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026 at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.  Born on September 4, 1946 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Stella (Wygonik) Kollie and the wife of Harold R. “Rick” Brown of over 59 years, married on July 2, 1966.

Sandy attended local schools and graduated from LaSalle Senior High School.  She worked as a caregiver for families.  Sandy was a member of the Freewheelers Car Club and the Niagara Frontier Scuba Club. Rick and Sandy enjoyed spending time together on the Upper Niagara River.  She loved the Buffalo Bills and Golden State Warriors.  Sandy thought of Josh Allen and Steph Curry as personal friends and she was famous for her brownies.  

In addition to her beloved husband, Sandy is survived by two daughters, Christine (Greg) Hughes and Kimberly (Anthony) Barone; grandchildren, Kassie Ligammari, Gregory (Skyler) Evans, Justin Hughes and Ciara and Celena Barone; great-grandchildren, Alfred and Abel Ligammari; siblings, Karen Reimer, John “Terry” (Nina) Kollie and Sue Foss. 

All are welcome to gather for visitation on Saturday, January 24th, from 1-4 p.m., at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME AND NIAGARA COUNTY CREMATION CARE, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007).  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation,  https://www.roswellpark.org/giving and or the Patricia Allen Fund, www.ochbuffalo.org/foundation/patricia-allen-fund
