Shirley M. (Morin) Hazel, 83, of Lockport, NY, passed into Eternal Life on June 18, 2025. Born on January 3, 1942 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Diana (Fleury) Morin and the wife of Lawrence Hazel.
Shirley will be remembered most for her infectious laugh, her warm smile, her kind heart and her abiding faith in God. A lifelong learner, she worked in countless jobs over the years, ultimately retiring from Niagara University, where she was an administrative assistant. She took a genuine interest in others and left her mark with her friendship to all and her volunteer service through her church and at the Lewiston Public Library. She was happiest when surrounded by family over a meal or playing cards, where there was always much laughter and love.
In addition to her beloved husband, Shirley is survived by her children, Diane TM. (Jack) Bielat, Donald C. (Tracy) Weiss, Deborah W. Benkovich, Diana L. (Erich) Stegich and Christopher J. (Hope) Hazel; grandchildren, Lauren, Hannah, Zachary, Abby, Rachel, Clark, Chris, Erica, Jeff, Josh and Olivia; 3 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her dear sisters, Muriel Rua, Florine Linkous, Betty Ann Peters and Cindy Godbout and her many nieces and nephews, and predeceased by her brothers, Ronald and Richard Morin. She will live forever in our hearts.
All are welcome to gather for visitation on Sunday, June 22, from 3–7 p.m., at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME AND NIAGARA COUNTY CREMATION CARE, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007), where Shirley’s funeral service will be held on Monday, June 23rd, at 11:00 a.m. Prayers of committal and interment will follow in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
