Shirley Jandreau Life story

Shirley Ann (Norris) Jandreau, 82, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on March 20, 2025, at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. Born on May 30, 1942, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Russell Galt Norris and Ada Gladys (Bradbury) Hyslop, and the beloved wife of Ralph Edward Jandreau, whom she married on November 5, 1966.

Shirley attended St. Helen’s School in Dunham, Quebec, and later earned a secretarial degree from Sir George Williams University in Montreal. She worked for several businesses early in her career and, for the last 25 years, co-owned Niagara Lane Service, Inc. with her husband. She also served as a co-facilitator for the St. Mary’s Cancer Support Group.

Shirley was known for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and generosity. She was always there for her family, friends, and neighbors, offering her undivided attention, listening with genuine curiosity and empathy, and sharing in both the joys and sorrows. A gifted and eloquent letter writer, Shirley had a rare talent for capturing thoughts with beautiful penmanship and meaningful correspondence. She was also an avid researcher, constantly diving deep into topics that intrigued her, whether for personal interest or to help others. Her strength of character, quick wit, and wisdom made her a source of support and inspiration to all who knew her. And her words of encouragement and congratulations were always just what was needed.

Shirley was the heart and cornerstone of her family, holding everything together with grace and strength while her husband traveled frequently for work. Her family’s life is filled with beautiful memories and a legacy of love, all thanks to her unwavering dedication. Our accomplishments were her accomplishments, as we could not have achieved them without her steadfast support. We are eternally grateful for her, and we will carry her memory with us, striving to live our lives in a way that honors the incredible person she was. Words cannot fully express how much we love her, and we will miss her dearly every day.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Ralph; children, Christine (Scott) Kent and Russell (Tatiana) Jandreau; grandchildren, Ethan, Quentin, Patrick, Nicole, Maryn, and Shay; siblings, Robert (Joan) Norris, Heather (Paul) Thompson, and Rodney (Nancy) Hyslop; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
