Walter D. Michaels

Walter D. Michaels, also known as Walt, 81, of Lewiston, NY, passed away on May 26, 2025 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.  Born on March 13, 1944 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Casimer and Sophie (Szczes) Michaels and the husband of Barbara A. (Ciurylo) Michaels.

Walt graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1961.  He proudly served in the United States Army and the United States Reserves as a radio operator.  Walt was employed for 40 years as a Supervisor for Occidental Chemical Corporation.

In addition to his beloved wife of 57 years, Walt is survived by children, Wendy Michaels, Tracy (Daniel) Molinari and Dennis (Jennifer Allen) Michaels; grandchildren, Alexa Molinari, Tristen Molinari and Anthony Jones and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a son, David Michaels and a sister, Helen (late William) Suita.

There will be no prior visitation.   Walt’s family has entrusted his care to the Goodlander family, OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME AND NIAGARA COUNTY CREMATION CARE (716-297-9007).
