Robert D. Hopfer, Jr.

Robert D. Hopfer, Jr., 64, of Wheatfield, NY, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family, while under the care of Niagara Hospice.  Born on November 20, 1952 in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of Robert D. and Elizabeth (McCrory) Hopfer, Sr.

Mr. Hopfer was a lifelong resident of Wheatfield, NY.  Bobby, as he was known by family and friends, t attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Wheatfield High School.  On June 30, 1973, he married the former Sherry L. Blanchard.  Mr. Hopfer was employed as a diesel mechanic for Jack Cooper.  Bobby’s main hobby was working in his garage; on cars and helping his family and friends. He did whatever he could for everyone.  Bobby spent his early mornings before work walking his dog, who was like another child to him.  He had the biggest heart and the very best sense of humor.

In addition to his beloved wife of over 43 years, Mr. Hopfer is survived by his daughter, Angela M. Lupo; sisters, Jane (Jack) Smith and Patricia Miles and several nieces, nephews, cousins and Godchildren.  Bobby was predeceased by one sister, Debbie and one brother, Daniel.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Bobby’s life on Saturday, July 22nd at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, in the Town of Niagara.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offings may be made to Niagara Hospice.
