Betty Joanne (Currie) Sweatman

Betty Joanne (nee Currie) Sweatman, 79, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed from this life on Monday, June 29, 2015, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.  Born on December 19, 1935 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Frank Currie and the late Betty (Day) DeLorenzo.

Betty came to Niagara Falls, NY in 1949.  She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School.  Betty later attended Niagara County Community College.  She was employed as a supervisor for Edwin Mellen Press in Lewiston, NY, until her retirement in 2002.
She enjoyed gardening.

Betty is survived by eight children, Wendy (Michael) Stevens, Lawrence Evert, Lanette Sky, Marjorie Conley, Ronald Evert, Yvonne (James) Upton, Bettina Feder and Shara (Charles) Leveille; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by two brothers, Kenneth Currie and Donald DeLorenzo; her former spouses, Kenneth Evert, William Noel and John Sweatman; a close friend, Andy Biesinger and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  

Visitation will be on Thursday, July 2nd, from 4-6 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007) where a funeral service will follow visitation at 6:00 p.m. Private entombment will be held in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094, Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, Elm & Carlton Streets, Buffalo, NY 14263 or to Wings Flights of Hope, Inc., P.O.
