“Loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother”

Patricia (nee MacKenzie) Schucker, 78, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed from this life on Thursday, August 4, 2016 in Kenmore Mercy Hospital, following a brief illness.  Born on February 22, 1938 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late James and Margaret “Peggy” (Murphy) MacKenzie.

Mrs. Schucker was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY.  Patricia attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School.  On June 22, 1957, she married Byron L. Schucker in the former Sacred Heart Church.  Byron predeceased her on January 4, 2012.  For several years, Patricia was employed by Moore Business Forms and later by HANCI, where she worked as a home health care aide.

Mrs. Schucker was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish, where she attended the Prince of Peace worship site.  Following her husband’s passing, Patricia became a member of a widow’s bereavement group.  She was an avid gardener and one of her greatest pleasures was traveling with her husband, Byron, in their R.V. Together, they traveled through more than forty states, including their greatest adventure to Alaska. For years, Byron and Pat, square danced. They also spent their winters in Florida and summers in Allegany State Park with family and friends.

Mrs. Schucker’s family wishes to extend their sincerest gratitude to the ICU staff at Kenmore Mercy Hospital for their unfailing compassion and support.

Mrs. Schucker is survived by three children, Linda (Bob) Johnson, Teresa (Ron) Polka and Kevin (Julie) Schucker and was predeceased by two children, David Schucker and Michael (Veronica) Schucker.  Patricia is also survived by ten grandchildren, Kristina (fiancé Randy) Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Joseph Polka, Amanda (Merton) Kreps, Taylor Speer and Kelly, Sarah, Emma, Brian and Madison Schucker; five great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Amelia, Bryce, M.J. and Mariah; four siblings, James (Roz) MacKenzie, George (Robin) MacKenzie, Robert MacKenzie and Barbara MacKenzie; brother and sister-in-laws, Ronald, Larry (Gloria), Dorothy and Sandra (Ron); several nieces, nephews and cousins and the Forsythe children, who were very special to her, Danielle, Ian and Collin.  In addition to her parents, husband and children, Patricia was predeceased by one sister, Betty Meehan; one brother, Norman MacKenzie; brother-in-laws, Kenny (late Mary) and Ronald and sister-in-laws, Ruth and Patty.

Visitation will be on Monday from 4-8 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, in the Town of Niagara.  Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, August 9th at 10:00 a.m. which will be celebrated in St. Vincent de Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 N. Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY.  Prayers of committal and interment will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the Cutter/Schucker Guardian Angel Scholarship Fund.  Please visit www.ottoredanz.com for online condolences.
